an Introduction to Home Brewing

Now is your chance to get in on the first floor. Come away with the confidence to head out to one of the Bay Area’s excellent Brew Shops and get your own supplies and go for it!

Hands on Learning!  We will brew a batch of beer together, answer your questions, and bottle some beer, and drink some beer, and talk about beer, and go home with some practical knowledge and confidence oh, and…..Beer.

This learning opportunity is hosted by Aaron Uplinger, home brewer and host of Beer*centric, a home brewers social event.

The first OTP meeting of 2012 went off in typical, cheery style last Saturday.  We welcomed Peter to East Bay life, ogled the cuteness of the two tiniest meeting attendees and sang a belated “Happy Birthday” to Melanie.

In addition to eating, laughing and having a good time we got down and got some business done.  Our meeting topics included:

• Plunge Planning.  In an effort to provide super high quality food for lots of hungry friends, the meals provided at this year’s event will be deliciously vegetarian.  If you’re interested in heading up a meal please email us at info@outthereproject.org  Look for updates and info about artists in the near future.
• OTP Retreat.  We spend a lot of time at our three hour meetings planning events and talking about how we need more time to get into the nitty gritty of buying land and forming an intentional community:)  We’re setting aside some time to work it out.
• New Local Events!  We’re planning some different easy, cheap, fun-times events for this year.  More info to come.
